Tips for Packing

1. Checklist of every item
Make a checklist of every item you want to take on your trip. List your clothing, shoes, toiletries, medicines, maps, guidebooks, reading material, hotel and hospital information.

2. Review your checklist
Review the checklist to determine whether you can remove any items to lighten the luggage. You should also consider the type of weather you are going to encounter in your destination country.

3. Buy containers for your toiletries
It is better to buy containers for your toiletries. These containers should be travel size, you can always drop into a local shop to restock your supply.

4. Pack your luggage in advance according to the checklist
It is advisable to start packing a few days before traveling. Check off every item on your list as you pack.

5. Packing technique
Pack clothing using the “roll” technique. Lay two or three items on top of one another, smooth and flatten, and then roll it like you roll a sleeping bag to save space and to avoid wrinkles.

6. Have reusable compression bag
Bring reusable compression bag which creates more space in your luggage. Store dirty clothes in it.
